What Jonathan decided
Le Bleu = winner (moves on); Pureau runner-up (fruity); Sirma eliminated (dirt taste, coolest bottle); Family Gourmet out; Clover Valley out
Clover Valley Purified
This was one of his fun upset picks. The cheap Dollar General water beat Fox Ledge on both taste and value, which surprised even Jonathan. But the magic ran out in the five-way round, where Le Bleu moved on and Clover Valley went home.
About Clover Valley Purified
Clover Valley is Dollar General's house food brand, and this purified water is its private-label offering, sold only at Dollar General stores in multipacks, 20-ounce bottles, and gallon jugs. It is purified with minerals added back for taste, with ultra-budget positioning inside Dollar General's rural and small-town stores.
Family Gourmet Spring
Family Gourmet took its first round when Aqua 9+ showed up with a cough-syrup aftertaste. In the five-way bracket, Le Bleu moved on and Family Gourmet went home with the rest of the field.
About Family Gourmet Spring
Family Gourmet is the store-brand spring water of Family Dollar, a Dollar Tree subsidiary since 2015. Family Gourmet is Family Dollar's private-label food brand, sold in 16.9-ounce bottles and multipacks at Family Dollar stores. With Dollar Tree's announced sale of Family Dollar in early 2025, the brand's future is uncertain.
Le Bleu
Le Bleu was on a tear. It won three straight: against IGA, against a five-water field including Pureau, and against TJ's New Zealand Artesian ("the winner is the blue"). Iceland and Tourmaline finally stopped it in #4993. Then in the Honorable Mention Awards it took home Best Distilled Water, which feels exactly right.
About Le Bleu
Le Bleu is made by the Le Bleu Corporation in Advance, North Carolina, steam-distilled through a patent-pending process they call "five steps beyond Mother Nature." They have been delivering 3- and 5-gallon jugs across the Carolinas and Southeast for over 20 years, and the water comes in award-winning cobalt-blue bottles. It even won Best Non-Alcoholic Beverage in the Western Hemisphere at a Miami trade show.
Pureau
Le Bleu won this five-water round and moved on. Pureau was the runner-up, and he found it fruity.
About Pureau
Pureau is an Australian ultra-purified water brand sold at Woolworths and Coles, positioned as ultra-pure filtered water in bottles and big 10-liter formats.
Sirma Natural Spring
Sirma narrowly beat Morning Fresh Farms, which tasted slightly plasticky. In the next round it lost to Le Bleu: he caught a dirt taste in the Sirma, though he called it the coolest bottle.
About Sirma Natural Spring
Sirma is a Turkish bottled water brand owned by Danone in Turkey, started in 1991 in Bursa. Its natural spring water is bottled at Sapanca from a low-mineral spring.
