What Jonathan decided
True Water = winner (advances); Chantemerle 1868, Lemongrass Sparkling, Flow Lemon Ginger, Shasta Root Beer = eliminated in Round 2
Chantemerle 1868
Rough stretch for this French import. Jonathan did not care for it at all, finding a dirty, soily taste that sank it against World Market, and it went out again in the five-way round that True Water won.
About Chantemerle 1868
Chantemerle 1868 is a French natural mineral water from the Ardeche region, flowing under volcanic rock, with the 1868 marking the source's long history. It is a low-minerality water at about 270 mg per liter total minerals and only 6 mg per liter sodium, marketed as a low-sodium diet-friendly water and positioned as a premium still water for fine dining rather than a mass-market brand.
Flow Lemon Ginger
Part of the five-way field that True Water beat. Chantemerle 1868, the lemongrass sparkling, and Shasta Root Beer went out with it.
About Flow Lemon Ginger
Flow Water is a family-owned, certified B Corp alkaline spring water with a natural pH of 8.1, high in calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Lemon and Ginger is one of its first two organic flavors, zero calories and zero sugar, sold in 100 percent recyclable, 70 percent renewable Tetra Pak cartons across North America.
Lemongrass Sparkling
This one beat Clearly Canadian Wild Cherry in #6864, mostly because the cherry was too sugary. Then True Water ended the run in Round 2 of #6891. A win and a loss, which is about as honest as it gets.
About Lemongrass Sparkling
No standalone bottled brand by this exact name turned up in research, so this was most likely a flavor label on the bottle I grabbed. The best candidates are VOSS Tangerine Lemongrass sparkling water or Kroger's Simple Truth Tangerine Lemongrass seltzer.
Shasta Root Beer
In a five-drink round, Shasta Root Beer got eliminated along with Chantemerle, Lemongrass, and Flow. True Water won and advanced.
About Shasta Root Beer
Same Shasta brand, the classic root beer from the 1889-founded soda maker.
Tru Alka (True Water / Alka True)
A bracket champion in its own right. It beat Llanllyr, then a five-way field, then won the final with water he called "just good and pure no bad aftertaste." Later it pushed Hawaiian Springs hard, both got two thumbs up, but Hawaiian tasted "a little bit better a little cleaner a little bit more pure."
About Tru Alka (True Water / Alka True)
Tru Alka is a premium alkaline water around pH 9.5, purified by reverse osmosis, then ionized and enhanced with calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. BPA-free, zero calories, marketed for pH balance and hydration.
