Winner: Qure.
What Jonathan decided
Overall winner = QURE ("the winner is the QURE water just slightly better... if I had to drink more of it right now I would go with the [QURE]... moving on"). Sub-verdicts: Sanavi beat Blue Can ("Sanavi is the winner just because the blue can has a slight like metallic taste"); QURE beat Nirvana; Brita beat Lurisia ("the winner is actually the Brita"); in Round 4 (three winners), Brita was eliminated and QURE beat Sanavi. "all six of these waters are good they all get thumbs up".
Blue Can
He called it the best metal-container water he had ever had, with only a very slight taste of aluminum. It beat blk, Trump Spring, Kick2O, and the plasticky Valley Pure gallon jug. Then Sanavi beat it in the next round on a slight metallic taste. All six waters in that round got thumbs up.
About Blue Can
Blue Can Water of Los Angeles sells premium emergency drinking water in aluminum cans, marketed as the number one emergency water in the world. Its signature claim is a lab-certified 50-year shelf life, with hermetically sealed cans, oxygen removed, and a 12-step purification process.
Brita
Brita made a real run here. It took down Lurisia in its first matchup, and Jonathan had kind words for the whole lineup, saying all six waters were good and all got thumbs up. But when it came to the final, QURE was just slightly better, and if he had to drink more right then, he said he would pick the QURE.
About Brita
Brita is the German water-filtration company founded in 1966 by Heinz Hankammer, the inventor of the household filter jug. In the Americas the brand is licensed to Clorox, while German-owned Brita GmbH runs it everywhere else. The filters use activated carbon plus ion-exchange resin to cut chlorine, taste and odor issues, lead, and copper.
Lurisia
This was a six-water showdown and QURE won the whole thing. In my pairing, Brita actually beat Lurisia, which still cracks me up: a pitcher filter beating an Italian premium water. All six waters got thumbs up though, so nobody left sad.
About Lurisia
Lurisia is an Italian premium mineral water founded in 1940 in Roccaforte Mondovi, Piedmont, from springs on Monte Pigna at 1,400 meters. It is famous for its bell-shaped glass bottles designed by Sottsass Associati, with ultra-low sodium at 2.6 mg/L and pH 6.7. Coca-Cola HBC bought it in 2019 for 88 million euros.
Nirvana
QURE won the six-water showdown in #6279, and Nirvana lost its pairing to QURE. But here is the nice part: all six waters got thumbs up. You can lose and still be good.
About Nirvana
Nirvana Water Sciences Corp. is a family-owned spring water company founded 1996 in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, New York, with 1,700 to 2,000 acres of protected wilderness and 50 naturally flowing springs. It is the first and only company with HMB-infused bottled water, and its backers include NBA All-Star Kyle Lowry and golfer Greg Norman.
Qure
Six waters went in and Qure came out the winner, just slightly better than the rest. Sanavi beat Blue Can, Qure beat Nirvana, Brita beat Lurisia, and then Qure beat Sanavi in the final pairing. Every one of the six got a thumbs up.
About Qure
Qure is a California alkaline water launched in 2010, purified water infused with ionic minerals through a mineral-bed process instead of electrolysis, sold in BPA-free bottles at California grocery chains.
Sanavi
Sanavi beat Blue Can, which had a slight metallic taste, then lost to Qure in the final pairing. All six waters got thumbs up.
About Sanavi
Sanavi, from the Latin words for health and life, is an organic sparkling spring water from Vermont, USDA certified organic and non-GMO verified, with nothing artificial.
