What Jonathan decided
Tie on taste: "I'm gonna say it's a tie as far as the taste goes but I'm gonna say that BLK water is the winner because of other factors": winner = blk water (moving on to the next round) due to less sodium, lower price (~$1 vs $3.75/bottle), and FulHum bottles arriving dented (design flaw).
Blk
The FulHum matchup was a taste tie, and he gave it to blk for less sodium, lower price, and FulHum's dented bottles. Then Blue Can beat it in round three because the aluminum taste was less strong than the sweet fulvic acid taste. In the design episode he never tasted it, just said "very black... enjoy the dark side."
About Blk
blk. was founded in 2011 in Southern California by sisters Jacqueline and Louise Wilkie. The black color comes from fulvic acid minerals infused into spring water through a patented "Fulvic Fusion" process. It is alkaline at pH 8+, with zero calories, sugar, or carbs.
Fulhum Alkaline Water By Earthwater
On taste alone it was a dead tie with blk water. Both are jet-black mineral waters and they drank about the same. But blk won because it had less sodium, cost about a dollar a bottle instead of $3.75, and my FulHum bottles showed up dented, which is not a great first impression.
About Fulhum Alkaline Water By Earthwater
FulHum comes from EarthWater, Inc. in Dallas, Texas, founded in 2014. The water is naturally black from fulvic and humic minerals mined from an 80-million-year-old shale deposit, with a pH of 9.5 and 77+ trace minerals. It is supposed to taste like regular water despite looking like ink.
