What Jonathan decided
Qure 9.5+ = winner of Round 2 (advances to Round 3); Happy Tree Maple Water = eliminated ("not a pure water", but two thumbs up); Cali Cactus Water = eliminated ("not a really wet water... not a pure water"); Drink Melon & Market Essentials = eliminated first (calories/flavors get thumbs down, "not as good as the cactus water")
Cali Water Cactus
The cactus water earned its round-one win, with Harvest Bay getting a thumbs up but losing anyway. In round two, though, Jonathan said it was not a really wet water and not a pure water, so it went home while Qure moved on. Happy Tree Maple got the same treatment that round.
About Cali Water Cactus
Caliwater is a functional hydration brand made from prickly pear cactus water, co-founded in 2021 by actors Vanessa Hudgens and Oliver Trevena. Each can delivers five naturally occurring electrolytes plus betalain antioxidants and vitamins C and E, with 25 to 35 calories and no artificial sweeteners. Celebrity investors include Demi Lovato and Glen Powell.
Drink Melon
In the round that counted, Drink Melon was eliminated first along with Market Essentials, with Jonathan giving the calories and flavors a thumbs down. It was not as good as the cactus water, in his words. The earlier matchup against Drink Maple cannot be verified because that video stream is unrecoverable.
About Drink Melon
Research could not locate a distinct bottled-water brand called Drink Melon. The closest matches are melon-flavored Asian drinks, so this appears to be a misremembered or generic label rather than a standalone water brand.
HappyTree Maple Water
It got eliminated for being "not a pure water," but it still got two thumbs up from me, so I clearly did not hate it. Qure 9.5+ won the round.
About HappyTree Maple Water
Same Happy Tree brand, the 2014 organic maple water from Purely Maple, LLC. Maple water is spring-tapped tree sap, lightly sweet, and this one earned a thumbs up even while getting cut from the bracket.
Market Essentials Purified
This one beat Crystal Geyser's sparkling lime in #5943 and moved on. Then in #5966 it got eliminated first: too many calories and flavors, and honestly the cactus water was better. A short, sweet run.
About Market Essentials Purified
Market Essentials is the value-tier private label of Save Mart Supermarkets in Northern California, also found at Lucky stores. This is their reverse-osmosis purified drinking water in standard 16.9 oz bottles, the store-brand answer to the big purified names.
Qure 95
Qure 9.5 beat Arctic Sol, which he found really plasticky with a bad taste in the back of the throat. It then won round 2 in #5966 against the cactus, maple, melon, and store-brand waters and moved on to round 3.
About Qure 95
Qure 95 is the 9.5-plus pH alkaline water from Qure, remineralized through mineral beds with a smooth, silky taste. Some retailers now list it as discontinued.
Notes on this record
- Drafting note from the verified draft records: Drink Melon (#5852 portion): same unrecoverable video as above for its matchup with Drink Maple; its #5966 appearance has a clear verdict (eliminated, thumbs down for calories/flavors).
