Winner: The Fresh Market Electrolyte Enhanced Water.

What Jonathan decided

Fresh Market Electrolyte Enhanced wins (best taste); Sheetz For The Kids runner-up (best pH, charity); HumanKind out (tap-water taste); Fresh Finds out (plasticky); Wegmans Lemon out (flavored)

Fresh Finds Purified

The still water took this one. The sparkling mandarin was nice and all, but when it came down to it, plain still water won out. Later it faced off in a five-way comparison and got knocked out for tasting plasticky, which is just what happens sometimes with budget bottles.

About Fresh Finds Purified

Fresh Finds was the private-label brand of Big Lots, the discount closeout retailer. Their purified water was bottled by Niagara Bottling and sold in 24-packs, often at crazy-low prices like four cases for under $7 with coupons. Big Lots closed all its stores in a 2024 bankruptcy, so this one is now a piece of bargain-bin history.

Hk Humankind Spring

This is one of my favorite stories in the whole series. HumanKind beat Sweet Arrow in #5547 on charity after a taste tie, then got eliminated in #5568 for tasting like tap water. But I still named it the most charitable water in the awards video, because the mission matters more than the taste.

About Hk Humankind Spring

HK Humankind Spring Water was founded by T.J. Foltz, a former Christian youth minister from Philadelphia, and bottled at Laurel Run in the Poconos. One hundred percent of net profits go to clean-water projects like wells, filtration, and rainwater catchment in Haiti, Asia, and Africa. It won Walmart's 2012 "Get on the Shelf" contest as the top vote-getter out of 4,300 entrants. I said it myself: their charity is better, they give water to people who are actually dying.

Sheetz For The Kids Spring

The two Sheetz waters tied on taste, so the win went to For The Kids on charity. In the bigger round it finished runner-up to Fresh Market Electrolyte Enhanced, which had the best taste, while Sheetz had the best pH.

About Sheetz For The Kids Spring

Sheetz For the Kidz is the convenience chain's employee-driven children's charity, founded in 1992, raising money for underprivileged kids with the Salvation Army and Make-A-Wish. The specially marked water is a year-round way to donate.

The Fresh Market Electrolyte Enhanced Water

A quiet powerhouse. It won on best taste in a five-way, beat Starbucks' Ethos, and came in a close second to the mighty Table Rock. He kept chugging it, which tells you everything.

About The Fresh Market Electrolyte Enhanced Water

This is the private-label water of The Fresh Market, the premium grocery chain out of Greensboro, North Carolina, founded in 1982 with about 160 stores, owned by Apollo since 2016. Zero-calorie purified water with added electrolytes.

Wegmans Wonder Water Lemon

It beat the cucumber, then went out in the five-way for being flavored. He does not do flavored.

About Wegmans Wonder Water Lemon

The lemon is infused with organic lemon flavor, sold in 12-pack family packs of 16 oz bottles. No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, per the Wegmans banner.
