I have a simple dream. It is not world peace. It is not a million dollars. It is this: every screw in the world should use the same screwdriver.

That is it. One screw head. One tool. No more digging through a junk drawer like an archaeologist, holding up little metal bits and whispering, "Is it you? Are you the chosen one?"

Because right now, there are flatheads. There are Phillips heads. There are star-shaped ones, square ones, and tiny ones shaped like they were designed by someone who hates hands. Every piece of furniture comes with its own mystery screw and a little Allen wrench that you will lose in four minutes and find again in three years, in a shoe.

Who decided this? Somewhere along the way, humanity looked at the humble screw and said, "What if we made this confusing on purpose, forever?" And everyone just went along with it.

Here is my modest proposal. We pick one. I do not even care which one. We vote, we argue a little, we get over it, and then every screw on Earth matches every screwdriver on Earth. Batteries not included, but also not needed, because the screwdriver is right there and it fits. It always fits.

Until that glorious day comes, I will be in the garage, holding a flashlight in my mouth, trying them all one by one.

One day, screw. One day.
